Donate to One of Our Programs
1. The Oliver Project
A fundraising effort by Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. to raise funds for the Ledyard Animal Control to go towards the spay and neuter of feral cats within our community. All monies donated to this project will be used solely to cover the costs to spay/neuter, to buy humane traps, and to get needed materials for build shelters and feeding stations to protect the cats from inclement weather. It won’t happen overnight and It will be expensive. But the positive effect it will have on our community will be priceless.
2. Fixed 4 Life Fund
Our Fixed 4 Life Fund services two areas. One is the Ledyard Animal Control where we assist with the costs to get the pets spayed or gneutered prior to their adoption. The other is to help our community pet owners by paying a portion of the spay and neuter costs to make it easier to afford the procedure.
3. Pet Food Assistance Program.
Our Pet Food Assistance Program is our biggest program and offers outreach to many. We offer per food for the pets at the Ledyard Animal Control and also stock pet food in the Ledyard and Preston Food Pantries. We supply pet food to our community pet owners who might be having difficulty feeding their pets. When able we are happy to help other rescues, shelters, and food pantries who reach out with a need.
4. Emergency Medical Fund
This fund is solely to take care of any medical needs the pets at the Ledyard Animal Control might have. This can be vaccinations, tests, x-rays, or even surgeries. The goal is to make sure each pet is healthy so that it can find its forever home.
OTHER IDEAS ON HOW TO DONATE
1. Having a birthday, anniversary or shower? Ask for gifts for pets instead of yourself! Or start a fundraiser on Facebook, choosing Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. as your charity of choice!
2. Are you a business? Offer to hold a pet food collection drive for us! Donate merchandise or a service that we can raffle at our next event! If you have the space, put a permanent collection box in your lobby for others to drop off goods.
3. Are you an animal lover and want to be able to help Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. continue their mission? Consider leaving a legacy gift. A legacy gift means you would be making C.H.A.I.N. one of the beneficiaries of your estate, bank account, life insurance, or properties in your will.
4. Has a loved one passed and you are planning their final arrangements. If they were an animal lover or a supporter of C.H.A.I.N. you can ask for donations be made to us in lieu of flowers.
